What makes me happy

“Joy is like sunlight—it sneaks up on you, warms your soul, and reminds you you're exactly where you need to be.”

😊 What Makes Me Happy

Spoiler: It’s not just sunshine and daffodils (though I like those too).

Joy isn’t just a fluffy word I toss around like confetti.
To me, it’s a fizzy, feel-it-in-your-chest kind of thing.

It shows up in small moments and bubbles up until you’re grinning like a goofball, sometimes for no big reason at all.
It’s that warm, balloon-floaty feeling that lifts my mood and reminds me I’m alive.

And honey, we’re not staying shallow here—
We’re diving right into the deep end of the joy pool.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family First, Always

Let’s talk family. Not just the bloodline, but the people who’ve carved out space in my heart over the years.

They are my sunshine, my roots, my everyday joy.

Sure, my kids and grandkids mean the world to me—but so does anyone who’s ever left their handprint on my life.
I think of each person as a story thread in the quilt I’m sewing with my days.

💫 Everyday Magic

You ever picture Joe Blow from Kokomo starting his morning, tugging on his pants one leg at a time, just like the rest of us?

Or little Linda Led Bottom, nose smushed against the window, watching snowflakes with big saucer eyes?

That kind of everyday magic is what makes life sparkle.
Everyone’s got a little spark in them. You just have to look.

🧵 Threads That Tug at Your Heart

Even a walk around the block turns into a reunion tour for my heart.

I’ll bump into one of my boys’ old buddies, and out of nowhere I hear, “Hi, Mom!”
Just like that, I’m smiling ear to ear.

It’s that gentle nudge reminding me that life has a funny way of keeping us all connected with invisible threads—tugging at our hearts in the best ways.

And guess what?

If you’re reading this, you’re woven into this web now too.
Just by stepping into my words, you’ve added your own bright color to my life’s ever-growing story quilt.

Welcome. Make yourself at home.

🌱 Happiness Takes Work (But the Good Kind)

I’ve come to think of happiness like gardening.

You can’t just wish it into existence. You plant it, water it, pull a few weeds, and give it time.
You tend to it.

I hope my kids and grandkids figure this out early—that they are the head gardeners of their own joy.

Every choice they make, every little kindness, every value they carry forward is another seed planted in their patch of life.

🌸 When Spring Peeks Through

And speaking of growth—nothing beats that first true breath of spring.

After a long snowy Montana winter, it’s like the world peeks out from under the covers and says, “Whew, I’m back.”

Trees put on their green dresses, the air smells like new beginnings, and brave little crocuses stick their heads out and shout, “Let’s go!”

🍂 Fall Still Has My Heart

Now don’t get me wrong—fall has my heart, too.

It’s the season of storytime, of soup and sweaters and slowing down.
The trees turn into art projects, the air gets crisp, and the world sort of sighs in contentment.

Fall reminds us that change is natural—
And sometimes even necessary.

📷 Little Paper Portals

And oh, photos? Don’t even get me started.

They’re like tiny portals—each one a magical snapshot of a moment I don’t want to forget.
A grin, a glance, a cake-smeared toddler.

You hold a photo in your hand, and for just a second, you can step back into that memory.
It’s the closest thing we have to time travel.

💬 So Tell Me…

What’s your joy?
What lights up your heart like a sparkler on the Fourth of July?

What memory do you tuck in your pocket for rainy days?

I’d love to hear about the snapshots that make your life shine.

Until next time,
💛 Wanda
Pull up a chair. I’ve got a story.

😊 Wanda-ism: Happiness doesn’t have to be loud—it shows up in quiet mornings, warm coffee, and the sweet sound of someone remembering your name without a hint.
